Inspired by... Vintage Lace & Roses

Happy Saturday! I hope you having nicer weather than we are... after a nice snowfall yesterday, we are getting rain today... needless to say... it is a mucky mess out there. It's definitely a great day to curl up with a good book or craft and watch Friends :) hehe Well, ugly weather or not, Saturday means a new edition of Inspired by...

This week was Charissa's pick. She chose an absolutely gorgeous headband made by Aldona's Boutique (visit her etsy shop here).

I decided to make a beautiful wedding card, playing along with The Deconstructed Sketch as well:

I played off of the colours in the picture, incorporating calypso coral, lucky limeade, and cherry cobbler. I also pulled from the vintage element and used the flower trim from the spring mini, pearls, and linen thread to create a vintage co-focal point. Here's how the card turned out:

Yup, it's a winner in my books! The flower trim is so easily sponges and a few random pearls adds a wedding feel to the card. I really like the cherry cobbler/calypso coral combination as well:

The only downside to this card (listen to me toot my own horn *lol*) is that it is quick "high". I popped up many layers and I think it would be too think to mail. Here's what I mean:

Well, thanks for looking! Matt and I are off "exploring" the back roads today. Hopefully we don't get stuck somewhere, especially somewhere without cell service!! :) Make sure you pop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see how this photo inspired her (I have seen her creation, and it is absolutely GORGEOUS!).
