Fall Themed KCRR

Hello there! It's Thursday again, and that means time for a new KCRR! I also wanted to play along with this week's My Favorite Things sketch:

We decided to pick three selections for KCRR and random.org generated:

Whisper White
Seam Binding Ribbon
More Mustard

These items shouted fall to me, so I ended up with this card:

I like the way it turned out! I used a hand-made cherrywood button I picked up at a farmer's market while on vacation. I wanted that to be the focal point of the card, along with the lovely designer paper from last fall, orchard harvest.

What do you think? Don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see what she made with these elements! Thanks for stopping by :)

Stamps: On Your Birthday (ret)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, More Mustard (ret), Orchard Harvest DSP (ret)

Good morning! I am one day late with my post today, sorry! :) It's time for a new Inspired By... and I wanted to play along with last week's Retro Sketches:

Cool hey! I took a whole lot of inspiration from this picture, from the squares to the colours to the white space... combined with the sketch, it turned out like this:

It took a while to grow on me, but it has! I used this opportunity to use one of my larger birthday sentiments - that sentiment was one of the reasons I bought the set! Anyways, it's a fun little card with a but of sparkle! What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to check out what she made!

Return to Blogging with KCRR

Hello there! Long time, no see :) We have been out and about enjoying summer while it has been here and, let's just say, I've been having a blast! I caught the biggest fish I have ever caught before (see below) and Matt and I have been exploring lots. Here are some photos from our adventures:

Needless to say, we have lots of fun! The first picture is of the beautiful Goat River, one of my favourite spots! Then we have me, holding up the largest fish I ever caught... I was pretty excited! Then there is the tiny little ling cod I caught on the Nechako River here in town. And then the funniest pic - I said to Matt "let's take a picture" and that's what I got *lol* you can't really tell in the pic, but he is sticking his tongue out. Then just a great pic of Matt in his natural habitat :)

Anyways... enough about me, onto the challenges! It is time for a new KCRR and I wanted to play along with Mojo Monday:

This week's selections for KCRR were:
Leaves
Thinking of You

Great selections with plenty of potential! I combined them like this, using the great Mojo sketch:

KCRR From Vacation!

Hello there! I am currently on a short 6 day vacation on Vancouver Island again :) but this time, instead of making the 12 hour trek in the car, I flew! And I have to say... flying is SO much better!! Now onto the challenges! We decided to play the challenges one day early this week, so today means a new KCRR challenge, and I wanted to play along with The Sweet Stop, and their awesome sketch:

The selections by random.org for KCRR this week were:

Baby Girl
Small Heart Punch

Hmm.. definitely a workable combination! I put everything together like so:

I think it turned out pretty cute! Not quite the traditional baby girl card... but I like the colour combination :) The only sad part about this card, is that almost everything is retired! (Luckily pear pizazz and blushing bride came back *lol* and I can't remember if marina mist retired or not? *lol again*)

I love these colours together! So soft. I turned them into a sympathy card for a friend:

I struggled with the layout a little bit. I ended up adding the stamp from Flowering Flourishes and the tulip border as an after-thought. I think it turned out pretty nice, and my friend liked it!
