A New Inspired By...

Good morning! It's time to bring you this week's Inspired By… and I also wanted to play along with this week's Retro Sketch:

Charissa picked the photo this week: a little black and white, with a pop of colour!:

Looks delicious hey!? *lol* Anyways, I had a request to make a pet sympathy card, and I took this opportunity to make a cute little clean & simple card:

I know there is lots of punch art to make paw prints, but I always feel like those are dog prints… while this card was for a departed cat, I wanted to make sure the paw print looked a little more feline. So, I printed one off the Internet and cut it out from black card stock. Worked out pretty well in my opinion!

Thanks for stopping by! :) Don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how this photo inspired her!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Basic Black
Tools: Hearts Framelits, Scalloped Edge Border Punch
Accessories: Baker's Twine (CTMH)

Mid Week Challenge

Good day! We are bringing you the new KCRR a day early this week :) We randomly selected three elements, which ended up being:

Quilting Technique
Flower Trim
Beautiful Wings Embosslits

I decided to wing my card and go sketch-less, a rare occurrence! *lol* Here's how things turned out:

I like this card for two reasons: one, I used some of the TONS of Everyday Elegance paper I have in my stash, and two, I got to use the envelope punch board, which is quickly becoming one of my favourite tools in the crafting room :)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how she put our elements together this week! :)

Supplies used:
Stamps: Gifts of Kindness
Ink: Basic Grey, Pool Party
Paper: Everyday Enchantment DSP (ret), Lucky Limeade (ret), Peach Parfait (ret), Very Vanilla, Pool Party
Tools: Cross Hatch Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Scallop Edge Punch
Accessories: Flower Trim, Linen Thread, Baker's Twine, Ruffled Ribbon

TGIF & A New Inspired By...

Good evening! I am very glad it is Friday, as usual, and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Hopefully I can be productive in the crafting room, which needs a major cleaning!! Anyways, Friday means a new Inspired By… challenge, and I also wanted to play along with this week's Deconstructed Sketch:

It was my choice this week, and I selected a photo from the Etsy shop 7WondersDesign:

What a great colour combination, perhaps one of my favourites! Here's how I put it all together:

I finally got to use the This & That Epic Day paper from the "new" catalogue (soon to be old in June :S)… I love this paper! I sponged the edges of each paper with pool party, and added a little colour to the chevron stamp on the front. Also, I manhandled the doily over the chevron, until it was the shape I wanted, and I think it worked out pretty well! :)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how this photo inspired her.

Triple Threat Thursday!

Good day! It's Thursday, which means a new KCRR, and I also wanted to play along with a couple other challenges: Mojo Monday & Colour Q:

We randomly selected three items off our master list for this week:
Lucky Limeade
Decorate Inside of Card
Birthday

Great combo, and it fits perfectly with the Colour Q this week! :) Here's how my card turned out:

I embossed on a window sheet to lay the shape from Morning Meadow over the shape from Everything Eleanor - although I think you would get the same effect if you just embossed straight onto the main shape *lol*.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how she put our elements together this week :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Morning Meadow

Good afternoon & happy Friday to you! Today Charissa and I bring you another Inspired By… challenge. I also wanted to play along with the Deconstructed sketch:

Charissa selected this week's photo:

Very spring-like! I love the soft colours… but for my card, I chose to take the soft colours and amp them up a shade or two each. Here's how my card turned out:

Fun hey!? I love the bright colours! This will be a birthday card for my sister-in-law, who turned 27 last week (*lol* this could also definitely double as a kid's birthday card, but she is young at heart!) Regardless of what this little owl goes on, it is always just so darn cute!

Our KCRR selections this week were:

While clean and simple generally isn't my style, I found it refreshing to add it to the mix. Here's how all the elements came together:

I think it qualifies as clean and simple! If not simple, then definitely clean, in my opinion :) I love that colour combo! So soft and soothing…

KCRR & Mojo Monday

Good morning! We are one day early with KCRR this week, as I am going to be away this weekend! Off on the first road trip of the year… with many more to come! :) I also wanted to play along with Mojo Monday:

Our random KCRR selections this week were:
Rose Red
Little Leaves
Fancy Fan Embossing Folder

This is how it all came together:

This has definitely been my stable lately… and quite frankly, I find it a bit boring now! I think I am going to try and shy away from this look of card, and try something new! The fancy fan is kinda hidden on this card, on the little rose red square peaking out, but I wanted it to be understated. I gradient sponged the flower trim in various shades of rose red… I love that accessory, so versatile! Here's a close up of them:

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how she used these three elements this week :)

Supplies used:
Stamps: Vintage Verses (SAB 2013)

Inspired By… Fantastic Olympic Games!

Hello again! I'm glad you came back to check our Friday's new Inspired By… challenge! I picked the photo this week:

As you can see, I found this lovely photo on Pinterest, the greatest time waster ever invented… We have been very VERY proud of our Olympic team up here in the great white north. Regardless of how our team finishes, we are all still thrilled to watch them. When they triumph, we triumph… And we all hope for a gold medal Sunday morning, in our favourite sport, HOCKEY! :) After the nail biter of a game today against our neighbours to the south, we feel pretty confident that we can come out on top! :) Now onto the card:

*lol* Patriotism or what!? I think I may give this card to the biggest Olympic fan I know, my mom! She has been 100% dedicated to watching the games, and since they are in Russia this year, that means a lot of early mornings (like 4am… or in some cases, 2am!). Well, I think if it weren't for the fans, there wouldn't be the games! I even added this row of Canadian images on the inside of the card:

Cute hey!? Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog and see how this photo inspired her… and GO CANADA GO!! :)

Supplies used:
Stamps: Adventure Canada (CTMH)
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green
Tool: Autumn Accents Dies, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch

Another Late Inspired By...

Good day! I hope the your weekend has been great so far! Mine has been relaxing and productive! I am posting my (very late) Inspired By… card today. I also wanted to play along with Stampin' Royalty's and My Favorite Things challenges:

Charissa was in charge of choosing the picture for our Inspired By… challenge this week, a lovely tea cup:

Fits right in with the Stampin' Royalty picture! I successfully combined the two photos, and the awesome sketch, into this lovely little card:

The teacup I took from Charissa's photo and the doily came from Stampin' Royalty, and the colours, from both! :) I am really pleased with the results.

Thanks for stopping by, and check back later for the reason I was so late posting this! :) Pop over to Charissa's blog to see how her photo inspired her this week!

A New KCRR!

Hello there! This post is the last thing I am going to do before I hit the hay for the night… And lucky for us all, it's a new KCRR! :) I also wanted to play along with this week's Retro Sketch:

Our random selections for this week were:
Mocha Morning DSP
Needle Point Embossing Folder
Baked Brown Sugar

Combined with the sketch, I ended up with this:

Yup, I love this wedding card! The needle point is located just above the scallop border (kinda hard to see in the photo). The mocha morning paper looks great here! Which came as kind of a surprise to me as I am not a huge fan of this paper at all! So, I will chalk that up to a win for sure :)

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check back tomorrow for a new Inspired By… challenge! :) Make sure to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how she put together our random elements!

Stamps: Love and Laughter (possibly the most used wedding set in history)
