KCRR From Vacation!

Hello there! I am currently on a short 6 day vacation on Vancouver Island again :) but this time, instead of making the 12 hour trek in the car, I flew! And I have to say... flying is SO much better!! Now onto the challenges! We decided to play the challenges one day early this week, so today means a new KCRR challenge, and I wanted to play along with The Sweet Stop, and their awesome sketch:

The selections by random.org for KCRR this week were:

Baby Girl
Small Heart Punch

Hmm.. definitely a workable combination! I put everything together like so:

I think it turned out pretty cute! Not quite the traditional baby girl card... but I like the colour combination :) The only sad part about this card, is that almost everything is retired! (Luckily pear pizazz and blushing bride came back *lol* and I can't remember if marina mist retired or not? *lol again*)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to hop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see what she made with these elements.

Supplies used:
Stamps: Easy Events (ret), Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Pear Pizazz, Basic Grey
Tools: Hearts a Flutter Framelits (ret), Corner Rounder (CTMH), Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Three Challenges in One! Part 2

Good morning :) wow, it's already Wednesday! Let's hope this week keeps zipping by (then let's hope the weekend slows right down) :) I had my first session of a kick-boxing class last night. Let's just say this kind of exercise is going to let me know about muscles I didn't know I had/I didn't know could be sore *lol* but it is a lot of fun too :) Now onto the challenges! I wanted to play along with Dynamic Duos, The Pink Elephant, and Mojo Monday again:

Our challenge theme this week is to:
"Use 3 Decorative Papers & Your Favorite Embellishment"

Since this was for the 5th week of March, Dynamic Duos lets you pick the second colour. I chose summer starfruit (a colour that is quickly making its way into my "regulars" collection). I thought the Mojo sketch worked so well with the Pink Elephant's challenge, that I just had to use it again. My favourite embellishments are pearls and baker's twine, which both happen to be perfect for a baby girl's card:

I made the sweet punch art dress again for this card (originally showcased here). My bestie Michelle pointed out that it would be adorable on a baby card, and she was right!

I love the combination of designer papers here. The summer starfruit in the circle is from Birds of a Feather and the polka dotted strip is from the Print Poetry stacks (in the mini).

Thanks for looking today! Leave me a comment, I love reading them all! :)

KCRR #2: A Challenging Combo

Good morning! Time again for another installment of....

Yay! This week, random.org really threw us a curve ball... Baja breeze & baby girl... not a combo I would put together probably ever.... Anyways, after much thinking and planning, I was able to create a really cute baby girl card:

Cute hey? Lucky for me, twitterpated DSP contains some baja breeze and I threw in a few other thing, like the banner with the bear & the clothes line to tie it all together. Funny, Charissa and I were just chatting about the polka dots embossing folder today, and I said that it is probably my most used item... and here it is again! :) Banners are so in right now, and I am loving them! They make regular appearances on my cards. The banners on this card had their tails curled up using my handy-dandy bone folder. Here is a close up of the string of banners on this card:

Love it! Make sure you pop over to Charissa's blog to check out what she has made with this week's combo :)

Thanks for looking! :)
