Friday Funday: A New Inspired By...

Hello there! Happy Friday! :) Of course, Friday means a new Inspired By… challenge! I also wanted to play along with the Paper Players sketch this week:

I was so intrigued by the tag in the sketch, I just had to play along! This was was Charissa's pick for Inspired By… and she chose a fabulously decorated room:

I drew so many colours out of this photo, and combined with the sketch, I ended up with this:

I like the way it turned out! And, as an added bonus, it came together SO quickly! My favourite type of card :) *lol* I added a few black accents, a colour I find challenging to add to cards sometimes! When you pull the tag out, you get the greeting:

(Don't let the gross green in my kitchen distract you from the card *lol* - it was the best place I could find for the photos!) This card is destined for my friend Alex's birthday dinner tonight :) Perfect timing!

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how this photo inspired her! :) Have a great weekend!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Vintage Vogue (ret), Friendly Phrases
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, More Mustard (ret), Old Olive, Crumb Cake (light spritzing)
Tools: Sizzex Tags Die
Accessories: Linen Thread, Pearls

A Perfect Combo with KCRR!

Good day! I hope this week has been as smooth sailing for you, as it has been for me! And the best part, tomorrow is FRIDAY! Yay! :) Well, you know Thursday means a new KCRR challenge. I also wanted to play along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

Our random selections this week turned out to be the perfect combination:
Patterned Occasions
Pistachio Pudding
Ruffled Stretch Trim

WHAT!? Right, like I said, the perfect combination…. for a baby card!! Here's how mine turned out:

Pretty stinkin' cute I'd say! I played along with Mojo's theme of tall and skinny, making this a money card (when you just don't know what to get for a gift!) Here's a top view:

Now I just need to make a matching envelope :) (I am always slow at making coordinating envelopes!) Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog to see how she put these elements together!

Inspired By… A Garden!

Good morning! Here we are again with another Inspired By… challenge (which is GREAT because it means it is Friday!!) I also wanted to play along with the Retrosketch:

It was my pick for the photo this week, and I am so dreaming of making 2/3 of my backyard a garden! And that's how we ended up with this picture:

I took this opportunity to use a never-before-inked stamp set I have had for a while. I also picked up on the green in the photo:

I just love that swing and hopefully I will have a similar one in my garden one day! :) Don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see how this photo inspired Charissa :) Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Summer Afternoon (hostess - ret)
Ink: Basic Grey, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pool Party
Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Paper Stacks (ret)
Accessories: Corner Punch (CTMH), Pearls, Grosgrain Ribbon (ret)

Triple KCRR

Good evening! Another week almost done… this year is already flying by! Charissa and I bring you a new KCRR this week, and I wanted to play along with Mojo Monday's sketch as well:

We selected three random items from our master list and we left to ponder:
Comfort Cafe DSP
Sale-A-Bration 2013 Ribbons/Buttons Pack
Apothecary Art

Now, I must say this was not the easiest combination! But it seemed to work out ok in the end :)

One thing I have noticed about the new house so far is that there is no really exceptional place to take pictures inside! I must fix this asap….  these pictures are not super flattering! *lol* Don't forget to hop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see how she used these challenging elements!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Apothecary Art
Ink: Basic Grey
Paper: Comfort Cafe DSP (ret), Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla
Tools: Labels Framelits, Needlepoint Embossing Folder
Accessories: SAB Ribbons/Buttons Pack (ret), Summer Starfruit Marker

Return to Blogging! A New Year, A New KCRR!

Hello! I am glad to be back! A lot has happened since the last time to we spoke... the end of fall, the purchase of a house, the holidays & a family gathering. I hope you all had a fabulous holiday season and a delightful new year! Here's a few snapshots of recent events to bring us up to date:

Michelle and I prepared all these cards for my craft fair this year… in about 4 hours!! :)

Some neat big horn sheep on a trip to Vancouver in the fall

The Dixie Chicks… A phenomenal concert!

Our family gathered at Christmas time… not too often do we get a photo with all of us… so this is a rare gem and I truly love this shot!

I don't have any quality pictures of the house Matt and I purchased in December, but I can assure you, it is an AWESOME house and I am so happy to be a homeowner now :) (so much better than renting!) Anywho, I hope you had a just as eventful couple of months as I did! :)

Onto today's challenge… a new KCRR! Charissa and I randomly selected two items from our list and ended up with these:
Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder
Basic Grey

Hmmm! Definitely a workable combination…. and I thought it would work well as a Valentine's card (with V-day being less than a month away and all…) Here's how it worked out:

I like the final product! I subtle, yet classy, Valentine's card! :) Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see what she made with these elements!
