Inspired By... Fancy Nail Art!

Good morning! Friday is here, yay! On top of that, it's a long weekend and Matt is home, double yay! We have a full weekend of outdoor activities planned, as usual :) I am looking forward to it greatly! Now onto the challenges! Of course, we have Inspired By... and I wanted to play along with Freshly Made Sketches:

This week's photo was selected by myself, some fancy/fun nail art!

They're great, hey!? I took from this photo the colours and the silver and combined with the sketch, I made this fun Christmas card:

I went a little crazy with the glitter this card, but I love it :) plus it was my first crack at using the heat and stick powder, and guess what, I love that too! :)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop over at Charissa's blog to see how this photo inspired her!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Short and Sweet (ret), Snowflake Soiree (ret)
Ink: Versamark, Pool Party
Paper: Silver Glimmer Paper, Pool Party, Whisper White

Accessories: Baker's Twine, Heat & Stick Powder, Silver Glitter (Michael's), Dimensionals

A Snowy Thursday...

Hello there! Welcome back :) It has been a very busy, very HOT week here (the title of my blog post is probably a bit confusing now, but it'll make sense later). Matt went back to work today :( but he had an extra day off due to a flight scheduling error! Woot woot! We had an excellent weekend fishing and we spent the first part of the week bumming around various lakes & rivers around town in the heat. Unfortunately, this weekend is supposed to be super rainy and cold! Bummer! Maybe it will be a good weekend to hang out at home and catch up on crafting and cleaning (I say that all the time, maybe this weekend I'll actually do one of those things! *lol*). Anyways... onto the challenge! It is time for a new KCRR and I wanted to play along with Retro Sketches:

This week's selections for KCRR were:

Button Buddies
Bashful Blue

Hmmm... my original plan was to make a baby card... but then I changed my plan and went with... dun dun dun! A snowy Christmas card:

I like the way it turned out! I added a bit of glitter to highlight the "snow" mounds. The snowman is just so stinkin' cute :) well, that's all for me for tonight. Don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see how she put these elements together!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Button Buddies, Short & Sweet (ret)
Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Midnight Muse, Print Poetry DSP (ret), Tangerine Tango
Ink: Marina Mist (intended on using Bashful Blue, but that didn't pan out *lol*), Midnight Muse, Basic Grey
Tools: Circles Nestabilities, Frames Embossing Folder
Accessories: Grosgrain Ribbon (ret)

Christmas in May

Good morning! I hope you are having a nice week. With summer coming and busy weekends ahead, Charissa and I decided to switch up the dates of our challenges. KCRR will now be posted on Thursday and Inspired by... will now be on Friday. Speaking of busy weekends, this coming one is a long weekend! YAY! Plus, Matt will be arriving home tonight (well technically it's Friday morning at 1am, boo!), this means that tomorrow I might be akin to a zombie. But we are planning on camping a couple nights this weekend! :) I am super excited as camping in one of my favourite summer activities. Rain or shine, it can be fun (or course, more fun in the shine :)) I already have the two most essential things pack: sunscreen and bug dope! I am just hoping that there is no snow left where we are going!

Anyways, now onto the challenges! Thursday means a new KCRR and I also wanted to play along with Dynamic Duos one year anniversary celebration!

The selections this week for KCRR were the quilting technique and using retired stamps, and I chose to play along with Dynamic Duos #22 to create this cute Christmas card. THAT'S RIGHT! You read that correctly, it's time to start getting ready for Christmas because it'll be here before you know it! And I do not want to be stuck in the same predicament I was last year, scrambling to make cards for craft fairs and friends *lol*

I really like the way this turned out. I used the retired set Joy at Christmas which I picked up on clearance a while ago and employed the quilting technique on the main image. The JOY is also from the set, which I fussy cut and popped up in tiny pieces of dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked my version of Christmas in May! Don`t forget to pop over to Charissa`s blog, Snippets by Design, to see how she used our KCRR elements this week!
