Oh, Baby!

Good morning! I hope you had an excellent weekend! Mine was pretty good, and I think I am finally getting over my cold. Yay! I spent a huge chunk of the weekend organizing my paper supply, and I am almost done! (Pics to come once I am all finished) :) Amidst all the organizing, I had time to play along with The Play Date Cafe, The Deconstructed Sketch, and Stampin' Royalty:

This week's theme for Stampin' Royalty is "Oh, Baby!". I found this to be quite perfect as the moment I saw the colours for Play Date, I thought "baby boy." And, combined with another great sketch from Deconstructed, this card fell together in a snap:

I love it! It's perfect for baby without being overly cutesy (but still pretty cute). The little ducky from Easy Events (the stamp that overall convinced my to buy that set) is just so stinkin' cute with its little umbrella. I stamped the umbrella again on a scrap piece of cardstock, coloured it in, snipped it out and popped it up for some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today!

PPA & Retro Sketches for Baby Boy

Hello there! I just got home from an exhausting session of kickboxing, but I feel great! I have a feeling this activity will be a long term one... when an exercise session that's an hour long feels like 20 minutes, you know you have a winner :) Anyways, I have a couple more cards to make tonight, and it is already 10:30, yikes! Oh well, a late night on a Friday eve is not the worst thing :) Now onto the challenges! I wanted to play along with Retro Sketches (after seeing all the amazing cards entered in this challenge, I just had to play along) and with Pals Paper Arts, who had a appealing colour combination that screamed a certain theme to me:

I thought these colours were absolutely PERFECT for a baby boy card. I don't have certainly celery, so I used pear pizzazz (which we learned today is returning to the Stampin' Up! colour line-up). Here's what came out of these combined challenges:

I think it is adorable! Not too much, but not too plain :) I picked up the Little Additions stamp set a while back when Stampin' Up! had a rare stamp sale, and I am so glad I did. It is such a perfect little stamp set. I added a pear pizzazz button and some linen thread to finish the look:

Thanks for looking and remember to check back tomorrow for our new KCRR challenge!

KCRR Challenge #8

Happy Friday! Burr!! It sure has dropped in temperature the last few days here in northern BC. Minus 16 Celsius the last couple mornings and minus 12 this morning :( what happened to that early spring the groundhog predicted?? Hopefully it will show up soon! Now it's time for another installment of....

The selections this week were great and super easy to work with: Pumpkin Pie and the Scallop Trim Border Punch! ... I realize that I may have used the wrong scallop border punch, but it is a scallop border none the less! Here's what I came up with using this week's selections:

My new motto: when in doubt, make a baby card! They always work out so well! I really like the simplicity of this card. The small heart on the crib says it all :)

Thanks for looking and don't forget to pop over to Charissa's blog, Snippets by Design, to see what she created using these two elements!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Little Additions
Paper: Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Brights Stacks

Inspired By... #2

Happy weekend! Here's hoping the weekend takes its time this time :) Time for another addition of:

This week's inspiration photo was selected by Charissa, a beautiful bag she saw on Etsy:

I thought about this photo all week, and finally, last night, came up with what I wanted to create that was Inspired By... this photo.

I drew on the colours and the circles in the bag to create this baby boy card. The best thing about this card is that aside from the card base, all the paper was out of my small scraps bin! Yay!

Thanks for looking and be sure to check Charissa's blog Snippets by Design for her card based on this week's photo!
